Jerold Haas (1975–2018)

Jerold “Jere” Haas was 43 years old and building a future in the tech world through his blockchain company, Tessr. In late August 2018, he left Columbus, Ohio—and then vanished. He was never seen alive again.

On November 3, 2018, Jerold’s decomposed remains were discovered in a soybean field near the Clinton/Warren County line. His femur was broken. The circumstances surrounding how he disappeared, where he was during the missing period, and how he ended up where he was found have raised serious questions for his family and for many who have followed the case.

Medical examiners were unable to determine a cause of death. With unanswered questions and unusual circumstances, Jerold’s family continues to push for a deeper review and accountability—believing the evidence points away from an accident and toward possible foul play.
